National Right to Work – Our Labor Day message

Worker Advocates Issue Labor Day Statement: “Big Labor and the Obama NLRB Work in Concert to Undermine Workers’ Rights”

Thu, 09/01/2011 – 17:37 Will Collins Right to Work President Mark Mix issued a statement commemorating Labor Day and warning of looming Big Labor power grabs. You can listen to the statement using the embedded player below, download an .mp3 recording here, or read the statement here.

Monday isn’t “Big Labor Day.”

Labor Day is a celebration of the American worker — not the union bosses who compel workers to pay them tribute as a condition of employment.

But thanks to the out-of-control Obama Labor Board, union bosses enjoy more power over individual workers this Labor Day than ever before.

Think about how the union bosses and their political allies have abused their power just this year:

>> Union bosses in Washington State asked the National Labor Relations Board to force Boeing to eliminate thousands of jobs in South Carolina — all because those workers cannot be forced to pay union dues.

>> Wisconsin government union chiefs demanded their puppet politicians in the State Senate flee the state to delay the new government-sector Right to Work law — and then they wasted millions of dollars of their own members’ money on ill-conceived political campaigns.

>> The NLRB eliminated workers’ right to demand a secret ballot election after union officials gain monopoly bargaining power in their workplace through the abusive card check process — and the Board’s proposed ambush elections scheme would make workers even more vulnerable to intimidation.

It’s vital we counter the Big Labor propaganda machine that uses Labor Day as an excuse to demand even more power over workers.

That’s why I’ve recorded an urgent Labor Day message and released it to media outlets nationwide. Please listen to the message by clicking here.

And on Labor Day, I will appear on C-SPAN’s Washington Journal to expose these power grabs and make the case for worker freedom.

Please tune in to C-SPAN on Monday morning from 8:30-9:15 A.M. to watch the interview.

Most importantly, thank you once again for everything you have done to help fight back against forced unionism in these critical times — and please, enjoy the Labor Day weekend with your loved ones.

Sincerely,

Mark Mix
