Critics from both parties slam council bill letting non-citizens vote


A City Council bill that proposes letting non-US citizens with green cards and legal work papers vote in local races is already drawing stiff criticism from Republicans and moderate Democrats.

Opponents say the legislation, drafted by Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez (D-Manhattan) and expected to be introduced Thursday, not only cheapens voting rights of American citizens — but is politically motivated to boost campaigns by far left-leaning pols.
