It’s funny, they all claim “oh we never let donations sway us” but time after corrupt time, their hands are covered in cookie crumbs and the cookie jar is busted…
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – When company executives from Cor Development listed their expenses for a big Syracuse development project, they included money they had paid for engineering, an asbestos survey, and legal fees. Standard stuff.
And then there was this: $114,825 for political contributions to two governors, a mayor and a county executive.
In the 2015 letter, Cor itemized expenses the company had already incurred at Kennedy Square. Those costs, including roughly five years’ worth of political donations, were to be assumed by the new joint venture Cor planned to form with Upstate. The company and the university would split the costs according to their ownership percentages in the joint venture.
Cor listed a total of $92,500 it had given to the campaigns of Gov. Andrew Cuomo and his predecessor, Gov. David Paterson; and $22,325 in combined donations to former Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner and former Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney.
