Project Veritas: NOTICE: if you sue, you pay

Our opponents have been coordinating an aggressive legal assault on Project Veritas for years. People and organizations that you and I have exposed have been trying to shut us down through baseless lawsuits and legal fees. They want to stop us from recording undercover video and exposing the truth. But I have news for you — their plans aren’t working. In fact, their plans are falling apart! So far, Project Veritas has won 5 major lawsuits in a row! And now, the people who are suing us are having to pay . . . and in some cases . . . they’re being ordered by the court to pay

And now, the people who are suing us are having to pay . . . and in some cases . . . they’re being ordered by the court to pay A LOT.

I write this to you now because our team just received a check in the mail from the attorney representing Steve Wentz.

check

Steve Wentz is the head of the Wichita Teachers Union in Kansas. Veritas exposed him in 2016 when he said this about interacting with students:

Wentz: You want to kick my ass? You really think I’m a motherf**ker? Son, go for it. I’ll give you the first shot. But be sure to finish what you start because if you don’t, I guarantee you, I will kick your f**king ass.

Wentz sued us for defamation and he lost miserably. Our journalism speaks for itself. It’s bullet proof.

Now Wentz and his attorneys are starting to pay up!

Sure, the check doesn’t scratch the surface of our legal costs, but it means a lot to us here at Veritas because it validates our methods. You see, these legal battles are expensive. Every dollar we recover allows us to put more money towards our undercover investigations and our mission.

Two additional plaintiffs, Dianne Barrow and Kimberly Koerber, have been ordered to pay some fees to Project Veritas. Together, those fees and fines total over $136,000.

I am going to continue to push back on these erroneous lawsuits, and Veritas will continue its winning streak.

You see, the public likes to focus on the fact we once settled an invasion of privacy lawsuit many years ago. However, Journalists and media companies get sued and even settle nuisance lawsuits all the time.

Legendary investigative reporter Sy Hersh said in his 2018 memoir that he dealt with seven different libel suits.

It’s funny how media holds us to a different standard; getting sued is somehow evidence of malfeasance.

So I’ve decided to never settle a lawsuit again.

And I’ve also put our opponents on notice — if you sue Veritas — you will pay.

I’m optimistic they’ll eventually get tired of paying us large sums of money and they will get the hint.

I’ll keep you updated as we proceed.

Be Brave!

James

P.S. >> If you haven’t checked it out yet, Veritas released a documentary into our win in federal court in the Teter vs. Veritas case. You can watch the incredible story here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDstHftTzsU&t=121s
