Not a tool kit to better America or Monroe County, NY. But only to oppose anything Trump or Republicans do….how is this “we the people” Ms Slaughter?? You only represent anarchists democrats willing to riot and loot and not the mass majority that works every day and can’t stand up to your paid “protester”, but need to stay at work and support these same non-working, or government puppets on your payroll.

Thank you to those who recently joined me in Rochester at my Roe v. Wade event and my ACA press conference or in Washington, D.C. during the Women’s March and the inauguration. It was wonderful speaking with so many of you, and I’m pleased that hundreds of you took the time to stop by!
Over the past several weeks I have heard from many of you who are concerned about the crusade by the president and the Republican Congress against everything from women’s rights and environmental protections to the health care law and government accountability. There is a real desire out there to get involved in these legislative fights and to ensure that the public’s voice is being heard. I applaud you for this, and I want to give you all the tools you need.
First, I recommend that you monitor the local, state, and federal issues that you care about most. One way to do this is to sign up for congressional alerts that will allow you to get up-to-date information about specific legislation and the day’s activities in the House of Representatives and the Senate. You can also reach out directly to your elected leaders using this site.
If you are particularly concerned about the Affordable Care Act and its possible repeal, please share your story about how this landmark law has changed your life for the better. These stories will be crucial as I continue to fight on your behalf!
I also encourage you to support local organizations and groups connected to the efforts that are important to you. Pay attention to your local community calendars and voice your support by attending events and meetings.
Your involvement in the issues being debated in our nation’s capital can help shape and sometimes even change the direction elected representatives take. We saw this recently when public outcry against the plan by House Republicans to gut the Office of Congressional Ethics made them reverse course. So please, stay engaged and involved – don’t agonize, organize!
