(VIDEO) Trey Gowdy’s Defiant Response to Obamacare Architect Who Previously Said ‘Stupidity’ of Americans Helped Get Law Passed

Appearing on “The Kelly File” Tuesday night, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) delivered a defiant message to MIT professor Jonathan Gruber, the Obamacare “architect” who said in 2013 that a lack of transparency and the “stupidity of the American voter” helped get the law through Congress.
“You want to see how stupid our fellow citizens are? Take a look at last Tuesday night,” Gowdy said, referring to the sweeping GOP victories in the midterm elections. “Because they rejected you, this bill and this administration.”

Host Megyn Kelly said even though Gruber thinks he “pulled the wool” over the American people’s eyes, voters have been skeptical of the law from the beginning and never fell for what the administration was selling with Obamacare.
“This law has never had the majority of support of the American people,” she added. “And yet, it is on the books. They are stuck with it.”
Gowdy advised the American people to keep Gruber’s comments in mind the next time a politician or administration pushes for a “comprehensive” piece of legislation.
“Comprehensive is Latin for, ‘there’s lots of bad stuff in here.’ And he just proved that he is willing to lie… because he has the arrogance of thinking that he knows what is best for this country and the citizens and the voters do not. So, keep that in mind the next time anyone tries to sell you a big piece of legislation by calling it comprehensive,” Gowdy added.

The South Carolina Republican said he would like to see President Barack Obama address Gruber’s revealing comments as he said they insult even the voters who helped elect the president in 2008 and 2012.
“My fellow citizens have to keep in mind: Fool me once, shame on you. Ever fool me again, shame on us,” he said.
Gruber has since apologized for his choice of words at the 2013 event.
Before the conclusion of the interview, Gowdy said Congress is making great progress in its investigation into the Benghazi terrorist attacks.
