During Thursday’s CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley, Nancy Cordes continued to disparage conservatives, as she referred to some of the newly elected House of Representatives members as being to Speaker John Boehner’s “far right flank” and joining returning Representatives who stifled “Boehner’s own attempts” to address illegal immigration. Cordes went after conservatives: “But Boehner’s own attempts to craft immigration legislation has been blocked by members of his own party who worry reform would give new rights to people who came here illegally and Tuesday’s election added more members on his far right flank, North Carolina’s Mark Walker has suggested blitzing the border with fighter jets. During his post-election news conference, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) was repeatedly pressed by CBS News reporter Nancy Cordes about “a new crop of conservatives coming into the House” who she implied Boehner would have trouble managing. The CBS reporter asked Boehner “so the hell no caucus as you’ve put it is getting bigger and some of them don’t think you’re conservative enough. 3. NBC Plays Up Both Sides as ‘Digging In’; Ignores Obama’s Coolness to GOP Policy Goals

On Thursday night, NBC Nightly News played up the current political state of affairs in Washington as both Republicans and Democrats having “dug in” to their policy preferences, but focused only on how Republicans want to repeal “the President’s signature accomplishment” and are angered that he will go through with an executive order on illegal immigration. 4. ABC Dismisses Conservative Joni Ernst’s Ad as ‘Downright Bizarre’

Covering the midterms on election night, Nightline anchor Dan Harris huffed that Senator-elect Joni Ernst’s 2014 campaign commercial was “downright bizarre.” As the returns rolled in and it became clear that Democrats had suffered massive losses, Harris recapped the year’s political commercials and the money behind them: “Most of it spent on a barrage of political ads that ranged from terrifying…to downright bizarre.” He then played a clip of the Iowa Republican proclaiming, “I grew up castrating hogs on an Iowa farm. 5. NBC: GOP Broke ‘Truce’ With Obama By Vowing ObamaCare Repeal Vote

On Thursday’s NBC Today, White House correspondent Chris Jansing blamed Republicans for upsetting the supposed conciliatory mood in Washington following Tuesday’s GOP midterm wave: “Well, what looked to be at least a temporary truce between President Obama and Congress lasted less than 24 hours. Republican leaders now say the focus of the new Congress will be to repeal the President’s signature accomplishment, ObamaCare. 6. Al Hunt On GOP’s Midterm Win: ‘Republicans Have Been Nothing But Negative’

On election night, the PBS program Charlie Rose had an all-liberal panel to whine about the Democratic Party’s electoral losses throughout the country and complain that President Obama didn’t tout his political agenda throughout the campaign season. During the discussion, Bloomberg View’s Al Hunt argued that “this is the most content free election I`ve ever seen. The Republicans basically ran totally against Barack Obama… the Republicans have been nothing but negative.” The segment began with liberal historian Doris Kearns Goodwin lamenting how President Obama has lost the bully pulpit that existed under FDR that he needs to sell his agenda.
