‘Why is it such a bad thing to talk about virginity when they’re handing out condoms and girls are pregnant?’
Public schools have no problem handing out free condoms to teenagers, but according to administrators at Ramay Junior High School in Fayetteville, Arkansas, it’s not OK to promote abstinence, even if it’s just a message on a t-shirt.
Thirteen year-old 8th grader Chloe Rubiano wore a shirt with the simple message “Virginity Rocks” emblazoned across the front. Claiming the shirt caused a classroom disruption and contained a sexual message (to be fair, isn’t ‘Virginity Rocks’ by definition a lack of sexual message?) and ordered Chloe to remove the shirt.
Chloe’s mother, spoke with Fox News and expressed her bewilderment over the decision:
“Why is it such a bad thing to talk about virginity when they’re handing out condoms and girls are pregnant?” Mrs. Crozier wondered. “It blows my mind. I think they’re bigger concern (is) they just don’t want to talk about virginity,” she said. “Today, people think that virginity is a dirty word. It’s not in our household.”
