The Million Muslim March. This one was fun to take apart.

H/T Dorrie

First, let me assure you, I think this is a non-starter. Historically, these Muslim things have been dismal failures. (Of course, that’s in the eye of the beholder; the fact that any people came at all might be considered a success by the organizers.) The first Muslim March was a promise of 50,000 Muslims on the capitol grounds in DC — I hear they got maybe 3K. The next was 20,000 AT (inside) the 2012 Democratic convention — they got maybe 200 and a little prayer gathering was held outside in a park. (There was more damage done within the convention itself, I’m afraid, though, with signs like “Arabs for Democrats” and the almost-successful attempt to keep the Bible out of the proceedings.) Now this group thinks it “will march” [beginning where?] 1,000,000 Muslims “to DC” on the 12th anniversary of the Islamic attack on America. Oh, and this was supposed to happen on 2011. And then 2012.

Let’s see. The last reasonable count we had on the Muslim population in America = 2.75M. All over the U.S. Even given the open-gate policy the present occupant of the White House has for allowing Islamic followers into the country, we might be talking 3.25M. All over the country. Traditionally, it is Muslim males between 18 and 35 who participate in this kind of thing.

The most successful marches on DC have been 1) 1963, the Martin Luther King: “I Have A Dream,” 250K estimated in attendance. 2) The Million-Man March in 1995 promoted by Louis Farrakhan for black rights; the # reported was 400K-1.1M attendance. 4) Oct., 1997 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NoV4XrySHs) Promise Keepers Stand in the Gap: estimated 3,000,000 men gathered. 4) August, 2010: Glenn Beck, Restore America; 1.5M-2M in attendance.

So, not to beat a dead horse, these people came from all over America . . . with a population considerably higher than 3.25M, and attendees were not limited to males 18-35 who are as a rule restricted from mixing in mainstream American life, the subject matter was uplifting, and the gatherings were not put on by followers of the people who killed 3000 people for a creed that is anathema to the American way of life (well, Farrakhan’s is iffy).

I certainly do not wish AMPAC any luck, but I won’t mind seeing them look ridiculous again. AMPAC = American Muslim Public Affairs Council. Muslim Brotherhood. Division of the Muslim Public Affairs Council in CA. http://www.mpac.org/about/staff-board.php .

AMPAC Calls for Million Muslim March on Washington on Anniversary of 9/11 Attacks

On September 11th, 2001, a group of Muslims killed thousands of Americans in an attempt to frighten non-Muslims into submission. On the 12th anniversary of the bloodiest terrorist attack in American history, a million Muslims will march on Washington, D.C., in an attempt to frighten non-Muslims into submission.

Here’s the latest from the American Muslim Political Action Committee (AMPAC):

Assalam Alaikum Brothers and Sisters [so let us start with a familiar whine . . .] ,

We at AMPAC (American Political Action Committee) are planning an historic event for 9.11.13 where one million Muslims will march to Washington D.C. and demand that our civil rights be protected by our government. We are demanding that laws be enacted protecting our 1st amendment . We are asking President Obama to fulfill his promise from his first campaign for Presidency of a transparent government. Lastly we are asking for the release of the 9/11 commission report to the American people. On 9.11.01 our country was forever changed by the horrific events in New York. The entire country was victimized by the acts done on that day. Muslim and Non Muslim alike were traumatized but we as Muslims continue 12 years later to be victimized by being made the villains.

To this day every media outlet [sometimes you’ve got to gasp at the audacity of hyperbole they use with a straight face] and anti Islamic organization has committed slanderous and libel statements [to their Sharia, that’s correct; anything a non-Muslim says a Muslim doesn’t like is slanderous or libelous; that they don’t live in Sharia-controlled country is of no moment] against us as Muslims and our religion of Islam. Yet our Government [well, see it isn’t, or you wouldn’t be putting out these call-to-marches. Or have the Web. Or free speech. Or the ability to write] either sits idly by and does nothing to protect our freedoms or it exacerbates the problem with its constant war on terrorism in Islamic countries, congressional hearings on Islam in America, and its changes to the NDAA law. These lies told to the American population has made it impossible for us to do true Dawa. Why do we have to defend our religion [you might ask yourself that. No other religion in the history of the world has ever used the term “defend” to describe the methods it uses to spread itself] while doing Dawa? Why can’t we just share the perfection of the Quran and the beauty of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SWS)? [You can; just nobody buys it if you try to spread it that way cuz you end up with nothing to sell.]

It is time for us as Muslims in America to stop being defensive and start being proactive by using our right to vote and our freedom of assemble and let our voices be heard by our country and the world. Stand with us help us fight the injustices being committed against us. Help us to wake the American citizen up to the truth and together Muslim and Non Muslim can take our country back [another statement you’ve just got to gasp at!] to its true Democracy which is “For the people by the people”. Our Prophet in his final message told us: “Whoever sees an injustice should set it right by means of his hand; if not, by his tongue; if not, then by his heart and that is considered to be the weakest of faith.” And more to the point “If my nation are afraid to say to the oppressor, ‘O oppressor!’, then there is no hope in them.”

Islamic key concept words (Yes, found in my book :-}): Injustice: Any situation in which a Muslim group is not given the privileges and concessions it demands. Oppression: Not granting preferential treatment to Muslim as required by Sharia law. “Should set it right by his hand”: jihad. Democracy: The state when Islam is the absolute law and religion and everybody conforms to the Sharia.

Sincerely, your Brothers and Sisters in Islam
