What started off as a discussion of UNC asking a local radio station not to mention their sports program during The Rush Limbaugh Show quickly became a passionate defense of local businesses during radio today.
Now, I haven’t talked a lot about the Rush Limbaugh thing. We have mentioned it. We have discussed it, but I haven’t given you a plan of action because, quite honestly, I’m working on one that is far beyond what I’m going to talk to you about here, but thank goodness somebody is taking a stand. When I see the UNC Chapel Hill tells radio station to stop mentioning its sports during the Rush Limbaugh show, what is that? What does that mean? When they attacked this program and attacked me on FOX, what they did was they went after our sp onsors and they went after all of the sponsors and we were left with only the sponsors – honestly, only the ones I wanted now, the ones who understand who they’re dealing with. What they’re trying to do is force us out of business. Because they can’t beat us, because they can’t get you to stop listening, because they can’t win an argument, they have to put us out of business. Now, they tried and they couldn’t and so then they applied political pressure and they still couldn’t do it, but believe me, because I believe in divine providence, I saw the writing on the wall and we started working on GBTV 18 months ago,” Glenn said.
“This is why I’ve been saying to you cryptically, freedom of speech is about to be lost. Let me be clear now. What they’re doing is they are now talking us on three fronts,” Glenn said.
What are the three fronts? National Advertisers, Scatter Spots, and local businesses.
“What they’re doing is Media Matters has gone out with their little Chieftains and they’ve gone out and they’ve assembled an army of hatred and destruction and they are going after and they’re writing down all of the clients,” Glenn explained.
Several radio stations have told Glenn that they have gotten phone calls from people asking for their client list.
“They are organizing throughout the country,” he warned.
