Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave a powerful speech to a special joint session of Congress earlier this week in which he reiterated Israel’s desire for peace, stating, “Israel is prepared to sit-down today to negotiate with the [Palestinian Authority].”
But speaking about the terrorist group Hamas, Netanyahu made it crystal clear that Israel “will not negotiate with the Palestinian government backed by the Palestinian version of Al-Qaeda.” Unlike President Obama, Congress responded with bipartisan support for Israel – giving the Prime Minister 29 standing ovations.
It is crucial that we stand in solidarity with Israel and send President Obama a strong message that we must support our friends not the terrorists. As Prime Minister Netanyahu said, “Israel has no better friend than America, and America has no better friend than Israel. We stand together to defend democracy. We stand together to advance peace. We stand together to fight terrorism.”
Stand with Israel, let Prime Minster Netanyahu know that we support Israel, and send a powerful message to President Obama that America should not side with the terrorists. Sign the ACLJ’s Petition to Protect Israel, Not Terrorists, which we will be delivering directly to Prime Minister Netanyahu.
While the American people are committed to the security of Israel – our only stable ally in the Middle East – President Obama has chosen to side with the terrorists over Israel. In response to President Obama’s two entirely disjointed speeches on Israel policy, I wrote an article for Human Events, detailing the dangers of Obama’s arguments and how Prime Minister Netanyahu appropriately responded in his speech to Congress.
Please read “Obama’s Schizophrenic Israel Policy,” where I explain how it is a fool’s errand to think that negotiating with terrorists will produce a workable peace in the Middle East.
All this week, I have been discussing this crucial issue on my radio show, the Jordan Sekulow Show – heard live each weekday afternoon at 12:30 pm EST immediately following Jay Sekulow Live! on Sirius and XM satellite radio Channel 131 and live streaming on ACLJ.org. I want to let you know about a new way that you can stay informed about the show and engage in the issues we are discussing each day.
“Like” the new Jordan Sekulow Show Facebook page, and leave a comment. In addition to utilizing the immediacy of Twitter, I will also be using Facebook in answering your questions and addressing your comments live on the air.
Whether it is through signing petitions, engaging these issues via Facebook and Twitter, or just speaking with our friends and neighbors, I believe it is vitally important that we each be involved and take a stand for the issues that matter most to us. Today, more than ever before, social conservatives are doing this in a powerful way.
In my latest article for the Washington Post, I discuss how influential social conservatives have become in selecting our nation’s leaders. Please read “Social conservatives post-Huckabee” where I detail the resurgence of this movement and the influence of these “teavangelicals.”
Also, please take a moment to register and comment on my Human Events and Washington Post articles and the Jordan Sekulow Show Facebook page. Show your support for Israel and engage in these important policy debates as only social conservatives can.
Thank you for continuing to stand with Israel and the ACLJ as we fight to defend Israel.
