Super Bowl hero Tyree to rally against homosexual marriage

David Tyree, a former special teams player and wide receiver for the NFL’s New York Giants, will be in Albany to lend a bit of star power to the battle over same-sex marriage.

But unlike the other celebrities who have lent their voice to the debate, Tyree will help deliver thousands of petitions against gay marriage.
Tyree, a devout Christian whose final reception in the NFL was the famed “helmet catch” in Super Bowl XLII, has been an outspoken critic of same-sex marriage, appearing last week in a video for the National Organization for Marriage.

In that video, which gained considerable coverage from ESPN, CNN and other national outlets, Tyree said legalization would be the “beginning of our country sliding toward — it’s a strong word, but — anarchy.”
